This is for people who want to be paid as a caregiver but do not have anyone to care for yet. Join our caregiver list on Find CDS Caregivers, our private directory, and families near you can ask to meet you. About two minutes, no commitment, and we never charge you a fee.

How it works

Families find you, and you choose

  1. 01

    You make a profile

    Your first name, photo, town and the days you are available, plus a short hello video if you like. Your profile is never public: only families we invite can see it.

  2. 02

    We complete your screening

    Missouri requires every CDS caregiver to register with the Family Care Safety Registry and pass the state’s screening. Registration is a one-time $16 state fee if you are not already registered. We walk you through each step, and families only see your profile once screening is complete.

  3. 03

    Families ask to meet you

    When a family near you likes your profile, they ask for an introduction. Nobody gets your number unless you accept.

  4. 04

    The consumer decides, and so do you

    In CDS the consumer is the employer and chooses who they hire. You can say no to any introduction, for any reason, and stay on the list.

We never ask for your Social Security number online, and you should never send one by email or text.

Already know who you would care for?

Then you do not need the list. If your parent, grandparent, friend or neighbor has Missouri Medicaid, they can hire you directly and we set the whole thing up.

Do call us to get it moving. The one thing to expect: CDS is the consumer’s program, so they are the one who enrolls with us, or asks to switch to us from their current provider. We will need to speak with them, and we are glad to do that call with you both on the line.

Spouses and legal guardians cannot be paid caregivers. Who can and cannot be the caregiver has the full rules.
